Demolition 1 - Richard 0

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Demolition has commenced and Richard has been making slow and steady progress. Well, on Friday, he got a little greedy and decided he would use a little more power to get the job done. After 30 minutes of "power demolition" Richard called me to come take him to the ER. 1 hour, two stiches, and a tetanus shot later, he was much better. Apparently he hit his finger on a piece of broken tile. He was wearing goggles and a mask, but he forgot his shiny new work gloves. I don't think he will make that mistake again!

So, this is our official first set back in the renovation process. He gets one week off, then it is back to business. Here are some picture of the progress so far.

BeforeAfterBeforeAfter

If you get queasy, you may want to avoid the below picture, but here is Richard's "wound."

  2. I'm sure it was all worth it, right Richard? I don't know...that bandaid looks pretty small. I say keep on sledge hammering!

  3. What did I tell you guys about bathroom tile... Well Richard, use your gloves and be careful. If I know you the tile does not stand a chance. When the lake wins once, Uncle Rico fights back and spanks the Lakes butt. So get after it, that tile could use a "smack that" for revenge. Love you guys!

  4. OH MY GOSH, RICHARD! It looks like it was a close call! Whoa, I am glad you were strong enough to make it through that horrible (and I am sure very painful) injury! Just giving you a hard time...

  10. Hope your finger heals quickly. I know its not fun to injure yourself when you are trying to accomplish something. I have to agree with Richard on the score.

  11. Richard Richard Richard -- well at least the score card still looks good. You need at least one good scar for the project, so let's hope this is it. Please be careful dear one.
Enjoy the rest from the project and get back in there soon to wrestle with that tile! Jen, every good project needs a supervisor, so keep a close eye on him. Congratulations on the process so far and much continue success in the Thomas bath and bed suite. Love you both so much and continue to include you in my prayers daily. Much love and sending you e-hugs. Aunt Cyn
